Keeping/Guarding Your God given Authority as a believer.
Keeping/Guarding Your God given Authority as a believer.
If Satan is unable to keep someone from being saved, he will at least try to keep them from being victorious and fruitful. The devil knows that believers who understand their authority in Christ will pose a major threat to his kingdom.Happy Caldwell, Believer’s Authority
The first thing I would like to establish is the fact whatever gives or where ever God us, we can either be loose, corrupt ,despise or misuse it and that’s exactly satan’s assignment, to make us ineffective and by extension in areas where our authority is concerned.
I will start with Satan who lost his place, position and also corrupted his anoiting.
Revelation 12:7–8 “Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.”
Ezekiel 28:17 “Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you.”
Jude 6 “And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day—”
Adam.
Luke 4:5–6 “And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, and said to him, “To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will.”
Esau
Genesis 25:34 “Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.”
Saul
1 Samuel 13:13–14 “And Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly. You have not kept the command of the Lord your God, with which he commanded you. For then the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”
Eli
1 Samuel 2:30 “Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I promised that your house and the house of your father should go in and out before me forever,’ but now the Lord declares: ‘Far be it from me, for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.”
Statement by Jesus
Matthew 5:13 ““You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.”
Things that causes one to loose, corrupt ,despise or misuse his or authority
Romans 15:4 “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”
1 Corinthians 10:11 “Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come.”
Ignorance of what you, what you can do or how to use what you have athourises the enemy to destroy you. Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”
Disobedience
1 Samuel 13:13–14 “And Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly. You have not kept the command of the Lord your God, with which he commanded you. For then the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”
Pride
Ezekiel 28:17 “Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you.”
Profaning Holy things of God
Genesis 25:34 “Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.”
The words of your mouth
Speaking in faith the word of God authorises God to work on your behalf and speaking negatively gives satan the permission to act against you.
Proverbs 6:2 “if you are snared in the words of your mouth, caught in the words of your mouth,”
Ecclesiastes 10:12 “The words of a wise man’s mouth win him favor, but the lips of a fool consume him.”
The Example of Jesus
Philippians 2:6–8 “who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God (reverence) a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself (was not prideful), by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient (Jesus was ignorant of his authority)to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
